Are you ready for 2017?
That is the question of the moment. Well….it is a new year after all and I am ready to make the best of it.
Millions of Americans have their resolutions and goals ready once January 1st comes rolling in. I used to be one those.
Noticed how I said used to.
Instead of carving out a detailed plan for a new year and new me I have decided to take a different approach. I created a bucket list to follow for this year.
It is out with the old and in with the new. This includes New Year Resolutions and goals.
2017 Bucket List
Most people believe a bucket list is for those that are near death.
However I do not believe that.
I want to experience more of the joys of life and have more fun. I want to take more risks in order to be more financially successful as I work at home.
Last year I set goals. I took action on most goals and achieved some level of success.
However, this year I want to visit places I have never been like the Motown Museum. I have lived in Michigan all of my life and never gone. I pass by it every weekend as I drive my daughter to dance class.
I want to have more dates with my husband. We started having children right away and it really put a damper on our fun nights. This year I want to date more.
These are a few examples of activities I have planned this year.
Create Your Own 2017 Bucket List
Instead of making resolutions and goals, try creating your own bucket list.
Think of all of the places you wanted to visit. Write down some ideas and pick a few places. If income is a factor, pick the least expensive one (s) and start there.
Think of all of the people in your life you wanted to connect with and start making connections. See where those new relationships will take you. You can build new relationships with people you have never met in person or rebuild relationships with family members you haven;t seen in a while. Don’t wait for a funeral to be with the ones you love.
Forgive those that you need to forgive. There is no use in harboring hatred in your heart for anyone. It will kill you slowly. Let this be the year you let that old stuff go! You don’t have to reconcile with anyone. That is a different subject altogether.
Think of all of the family activities you wanted to do with your little ones. Write them down. Start planning and looking forward to spending fun quality time with your children.
Whatever you decide to put on your list make sure you complete something every month. You will notice how more happy and complete you will feel once you decide to this instead of New Year Resolutions.
What is on your bucket list for this year? Let me know in the comments.
